chapter 31
Cap was driving the pickup on the dirt lane alongside our orchard when he got aressted again. Rain had told him to stay off the county roads, but that he would be ok so long as he stuck to garland property. When he told this to the officer the answer shocked him: "This isn't Garland any more. The land belongs to Skyline Realty and Development. And your driving without a lisence." With that he loaded him into the back of the car. When he got to the station, they sat him down in a chair. He just stared at the window, feeling pretty low. Rain was going to be mad when she found out about Skyline Realty and Development. Dealing with big companys was one thing Rain had formed to Garland to get away from. On the other side of the window he saw a fancy car with a new pain job pull to the curb. He knew from T&T that it was called a mercedes, and it costs lots of money. A blond, stylishly dressed woman slipped from behind the wheel, talking on her cell phone. With her other hand she had a cane. Rains cane. He took a double take. The hair was different, so was the clothes, and he'd never seen the car. But this was Rain! She gave him a big hug. She announced "Not bad for an old grandma, rite?" "Rain what happened you changed!" "Brace your self Capricorn, I have a lot to tell you." He inturupted "No I have something to tell you, I got aressted again and some development company owns Garland. What are we going to do?" "Some development company does own Garland, I should know I sold it." Cap was horrified "Sold?" They had a little talk about what happened. Rain told Cap that she sold Garland for seventeen million dollars!
chapter 30
Wow what a lightning strike. Like crashing your own funeral. Hugh fell off the flatbed. Zach didn't blame him. Zach was seriously thinking about taking a dive himself. This didn't make him look so good either. The people close in realized who had just shown up. They went berserk, hugging cap and shrieking with joy. Farther back, there was a buzz of confusion. Something was going on but, no one could figure out what. Finally, a couple of guys in the front row helped Cap onto a truck. The wind took his long blond hair and blew it into a halo around his face, back lit by a streetlamp. The hair ball was trying to say something, but there was no way you would hear him over the crowd. finally the tumult died away, and an expectant silence covered the crowd. Cap and shuffled uncomfortably and said "this isn't the halloween dance... is it?" A wave of laughter greeted this. "about me." he went on."im dine i just had to go home cause Rain came back from the hospital. My life isn't here any more. I live at Garland farm." Cap looked and waved, Zach followed his line of vision. It was some old lady on a cane. "Rain, im sorry i came here when you said no."

chapter 29
In the great encyclopedia of history, if you look up mass stupidity, this is the picture you would see: eleven hundred kids dressed as hippies, crammed belly to belly in a parking lot, having a candel lit memorial for some one who was perfectly fine. The idea to dress as cap wasn't Zach's original plan. Mabey it was the halloween spirit, but the word had started spreading almost as soon as Zach begun passing the flyers around the school. A third of these kid's think Cap is dead, another third have him in intencive care, and the others are here because every one els is. Some people felt bad Cap and said a few words.
chapter 28
mrs. Donnelly was worried, it was only Sophie's first full day being a licenced driver. It had been 3 hours that her daughter was gone, mrs. Donnelly was already passed anger state. Mrs. Donnelly was cleaning the room Cap had stayed in, he was the tidiest person in the whole house. When she was cleaning his room she found a piece of paper about the bracelet, her heart turned... Cap had that much of a crush on her?
chapter 27
Everything at garland was neglected, and with Rain still hobbling around on a cane most of the fell on Cap. The good news was that Rain was making a full recovery. It seemed that just being at garland energized her. By the second day home, she was already driving! Cap's mind kept racing back to the halls of claverage middle school. He missed it so much it was almost like an ache. He loved garland, it was all he ever knew it was always enough. He wasn't sure but he felt he wanted to go back to school, but how could he? Garland was his life. Cap wanted to go to the Halloween dance at school, not knowing it was canceled because he wasn't there. But Rain said "no, all that is behind you now, your home is at garland." He left a note saying he was going any way and not to worry.
chapter 26
At last it was Sophie's driving test. Things were finally falling in place, Sophie's dad had finally came through with giving her the bracelet(in chapter 16 Sophie's dad gave her a bracelet for her b-day and took it back and left town. Sophie was really upset. Cap got cheques from the principle for the Halloween dance, but coming out of the bank he saw the exact bracelet that was given to Sophie, he bought it and sent it to her, saying it was from her dad). Sophie's dad finally called to wish her luck on the test. But when she brought up the topic about the bracelet he got nervous and let her go. Sophie passed the test but she thought that he just felt sorry for her. Sophie was so upset when she realized that cap was the one who sent her the bracelet, she figured it out when the song "all you need is love" came on the radio. That was what was engraved on her bracelet. The reason she was so upset was because she was so mean to him and all he ever wanted to do was make her happy.
chapter 25
Zach couldn't explain where Cap, and frankly he didn't care. Not only was his year in ruins but he Zach Powers, was mud at claverage middle school (dubbed c average by the students). It was all thanks to the case of the disappearing hair ball (Cap). People were nuts on the subject. I don't think they heard another conversation on any other topic.
